Bill Koho was a Marine. In this picture, he had just returned from several days in the field, near Phu Bai - not far from the DMZ. He was also a son, an athlete, a student at Bend [Oregon] High School and my older brother.

And he was killed on March 14, 1967 in the Republic of Viet Nam.

The Marine directly in front of Bill tripped a booby trapped grenade on their way to a night ambush site at about 8:00 PM that evening. The explosion killed Bill instantly and wounded two other Marines, including the one who encounter the booby trap.
